JailbreakMe, the infamous browser-based jailbreak service, has just landed in full force and brings with it support for iOS 4.3.3, including support for the iPad 2. The jailbreak was made possible thanks to iPhone hacking all-stars comex , Grant Paul (aka chpwn ), and Jay Freeman (aka saurik ). This is also the first released jailbreak for the iPad 2, which came out back on March 11th.
Users who have been patiently (or impatiently) waiting for full control of their iPad 2’s need wait no longer, and can find the keys to iOS freedom at JailbreakMe.com. If you are so inclined, please Jailbreak at your own risk.
The jailbreak is completely free and only takes a few minutes to do. Simply log onto the JailbreakMe website with your iOS device’s Safari browser and follow the directions. After that, you’ll be able to use Cydia to fully customize your iOS devices with a wide plethora of themes and/or tweaks you can imagine. The team emphasizes that you should not use it for piracy. We happen to agree.
If you try it out please let us know how it works for you! And don’t forget to thank comex, chpwn, saurik, and the others in jailbreaking community! They’ve been working really hard on this project and they are providing the service for free.
