For Android Techies : A must use Application "Antennas"


This app monitors the GSM/CDMA cellular network connection; displays a map of approximate cellular antenna locations and their RF signal strength; and can log the data to a text or KML file.

It's a must use application for people who are interested to know the received signal strength, to which cell/sector of the 2G or 3G site your are connected. To amaze your Operator, you can smartly tell your serving cell ID for troubleshooting in case you experience any issue in your are. It provides you with operators LAC, Cell ID, Signal Strength and connection type viz. HSDPA or EDGE.

The data can be analyzed to know your regular serving cell and it's signal strength, low coverage in your area, fluctuations in the serving cells and much more. The best part is that the application can run in the background, collect the data in a log file and can be later exported for further analysis.
